If we do 1 kilometre of fence with posts at 10 metre centres with 3 droppers between, it takes us around 4-5 hours using red gum droppers, about 3 hours using (V-Type) and barely ONE HOUR with Lightning, and with labour around $60.00 per hour, that's a BIG saving. If we quote a job we charge for the difficulty of the fence - it's quicker for us to install Lightning Droppers so we charge 30% LESS to install them, therefore our quote is cheaper."

"We used to use (one of the V-channel Galvanized Droppers) but switched to Lightning Droppers as the fencing contractors were complaining that the clips and the key-hook tool with those V-Type droppers was too difficult to get around the 'Iowa' barb. The Lightning Dropper goes straight on and is much quicker to put on too. They've lasted us pretty well mate. We've been using them for 15-17 years now and replaced none (to speak of)."

There's a lot more mucking around to install (V-type) - a matter of seconds to install the Lightning Dropper - at least a quarter of the time of others - I mean could be 3 seconds to install (with a lot of practice) - We've got a lot of suspension fences and the lighter weight of the Lightning means the wires don't sag, They put up with a lot of punishment.... I've seen cattle hit a fence with Lightning Droppers on it and they just bounce back with no effect to the fence at all."

I have been using Lightning Fence Droppers since the mid 1960's and have found them extremely durable, reusable, and no one could deny their speed of application. Over the years we've also used the tin ones and the corkscrew ones but they just don't compare. For many years now we've used electric fencing using wood or fibre glass droppers - what a pain! - but now that Lightning have Insulated Droppers available we couldn't go past them.
