We used to use (one of the V-channel Galvanized Droppers) but switched to Lightning Droppers as the fencing contractors were complaining that the clips and the key-hook tool with those V-Type droppers was too difficult to get around the 'Iowa' barb. The Lightning Dropper goes straight on and is much quicker to put on too. They've lasted us pretty well mate. We've been using them for 15-17 years now and replaced none (to speak of).
